These are the policies you agree to when you enroll at KayLista Spanish Studio. You can also download the signed policies document as a PDF.
Tuition is billed monthly and is due each month on the same calendar day as your first paid class. Paying on time is what secures your spot. You can pay by card or PayPal from your student portal, or by Wise (MXN or USD), Mexican bank transfer, or cash (MXN). Prices are set in Mexican pesos: if you pay in pesos, you pay exactly your tuition amount on every route, card included.
The price in US dollars is the same on every route. It is set each month from the previous month's average Banco de México exchange rate, plus a margin that covers exchange and payment fees, rounded to the nearest $5. It does not include any fees your own bank charges. Wise payers cover their own transfer fees so the full amount arrives. You can see what you owe, this month's dollar price and what you have paid at any time in your student portal.
You can choose to have your tuition charged automatically to your card on each due date. It is never turned on for you: you turn it on yourself, when you pay, by ticking the box and accepting it. Each automatic charge is that month's price, with any discounts you have earned already taken off. You can turn automatic payments off at any time in your student portal, and if you plan to stop classes it is your responsibility to turn them off before your next due date. If an automatic charge does not go through, we will let you know so you can pay by hand. Payments, including automatic ones, are non-refundable.
Everyone who enrolls on or after November 1, 2026 pays a one-time enrollment fee of $500 MXN ($25 USD) together with their first month of tuition. Each person pays it, including each person in a couple. It is charged only once: if you have been a KayLista student before, you do not pay it again.
KayLista offers the same discounts to every student:
• Actions: $100 MXN ($5 USD) each time you leave a Google review, follow us on Facebook or Instagram, post about your class and tag KayLista, or share one of those posts in a Puerto Vallarta group. Limit: $500 MXN ($25 USD) in your first month and $300 MXN ($15 USD) in each month after that.
• Referrals: $500 MXN ($25 USD) when someone you referred writes your name on their intake form and completes their enrollment form and first payment. Please let us know you referred them.
Discounts apply to your next tuition payment. The total discount in any month is limited to $500 MXN ($25 USD), and a referral discount cannot be combined with other discounts in the same month. Action discounts apply only to your next payment and never carry over. Referral discounts do carry over: they are used one per month, and if you also have another discount that month, your referral is saved for the following month. Discounts have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
New students may attend one introductory class, free of charge. The trial class is free whether or not you decide to enroll, and it is not added to your first month of tuition.
Your enrollment includes access to your class and instruction for the month, all KayLista class materials and worksheets for your personal use, and recordings of your classes, which stay available to you and do not expire.
Enrollment gives you access to your class and instruction for the month. Group class attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged: if too few students attend, that day’s class may be cancelled. Classes missed for any personal reason — illness, travel, work, scheduling, or otherwise — do not qualify for refunds, credits, or price adjustments.
You are encouraged to let us know when you will miss class (you are never required to give a reason). Group classes are hybrid: some students attend in person and others online in the same session. In-person seating at the table is limited to 6 students, so in-person students should notify the group WhatsApp chat as early as possible when not attending, and online or hybrid students should confirm space is available before attending in person. The couch is always available regardless of table space.
If your class level does not feel right (too easy or too challenging) reach out. The KayLista Team is happy to discuss options such as trying a different group class, adding personal classes, or other arrangements. If you are struggling, please reach out early so we can make a plan together.
Group classes are recorded for instructional purposes, and you understand that you may appear in these recordings. Recordings are uploaded overnight and are usually available in your student portal the day after class. Recordings of your classes stay available to you and do not expire; they are for enrolled students only and may not be shared or redistributed. You may opt out of having your image or voice used in marketing at any time by notifying the instructor in writing.
KayLista takes two annual breaks (the last two weeks of June and the last two weeks of December) aligned with the local school calendar. Tuition for those months is adjusted to reflect the reduced number of class days. KayLista observes Mexican public holidays, and classes are not held on those days.
Classes may occasionally be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the instructor’s control, such as public safety, civil unrest, severe weather, power or internet outages, government advisories, or illness. Because tuition covers access to the program as a whole rather than any individual session, these closures do not qualify for refunds.
Students are expected to behave respectfully toward the instructor and other students. Disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from class without a refund.
All KayLista lesson materials, worksheets, recordings, and curriculum are for personal student use only. They may not be copied, shared, sold, or redistributed without permission.
Separately from class recordings, KayLista sometimes uses photos or short videos in marketing, such as social media or ads. We will only use your image or voice in marketing if you give us permission to do so. This is optional and separate from your enrollment. By default, we will not use your image or voice for marketing.
Students participate voluntarily and are responsible for their own safety while attending class or traveling to and from it. KayLista is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or loss of personal property related to class participation.
You may stop classes at any time, but payments already made are non-refundable. We encourage you to let us know if you plan to stop attending.
KayLista Spanish Studio provides services to adults. By enrolling you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
